Less is Better

I don’t know when I started having this thought or this belief, probably since late 80′s or early 90′s, during which there was so much modern minimalism in fashion. I kept a whole big archive on this theme, and here’s one of them of a later period: a Filippa K ad in Wallpaper around 2006 or a year before/ after. It’s one of my favourite imageries of Filippa K. And it says so much about the essence of the brand still so true even today, that personal minimalism.

  1. Very arresting image and the phrase ‘essence of the brand still so true today’ rings truer these days than ever before. I think in this mass media twittered up age of ‘quick decisions and short attention spans’ it’s becoming clear that a true sense of style evolves but there is an indefinable essence underlying it all. The artistes whose work endures retain their own voice – be it in fashion, music, literature et al – they seem to respond rather than react, and you know who is ‘talking’ :)
